The link with South Africa is Open!

The picture above shows Dr Bernard Rhodes a Geography Teacher from South Africa. He has agreed to allow students to communicate via email and this blog! I will give lots more detail of this scheme when I see you all next, but in the meantime use this post to ask questions about the local area! I have started the process for you.

Try to keep the questions geographical in nature - you could ask about something that you are studying. In return you will be expected to answer some of the questions from South African Learners. Remember that taking part in this early project may lead to you exchanging emails with students - and you never know maybe one day you will get the chance to visit South Africa!

Year 10 Cover Work

Right then ladies and gents - I hope that me being on the other side of the world won;t stop you keeping up with your work! At the moment I'm sat in Heathrow Airport waiting to depart. I'll try to keep you all up to date with developments on my personal blog. Thanks for all the 'good luck sir' comments at school today - really made me feel a bit happier and a lot less nervous! I will be updating you on all the developments as soon as I'm back - and a lot of my experience will fit in nicely into the course. You'll have to tell me if you get too bored though!

In the meantime I hope that you'll complete the project given to you, and use this tread to comment on your findings about Shanty Settlement improvement c=schemes in Brazil. Remember to quote real examples and let me know what you are developing (PowerPoint, Word Document, Song.....)
